day 2 of no coffee

December 27, 2004 by Jane

It’s my second day with no coffee (or tea or soda or wine). It is 1:45 in the afternoon and I still have a slight temple headache. I also feel very tired and lethargic and low in energy. I presume the withdrawl is going to be toughest for the first four days. Luckily, I am also starting my period tomorrow. Awesome.

Need to find out if there is any type of tea I can drink. A hot beverage (without sugar) would be a good isotope.

Last night I wore the whitening trays on my teeth for four hours. I didn’t experience any noticable pain, though I did overfill the lower tray and had to wipe all kinds of solution off of my gums. Should be better next time.

Here at work there isn’t really anything to do and coworker brought a bigass box of Sees candy for everyone. Dammit. Will it cure my headache? Or make it worse. Only time will tell.

Drinking a lot of water, which is good.

My friend and coworker Wesley went to Thailand last week to do some scuba diving. Today was the day his boat was supposed to go out to an island and do their dive. Had it been a day earlier he probably would have been killed by the tsunami. I can’t wrap my head around it. I’m glad he is alive, but he will have to live with the horror and survivor’s guilt forever, I imagine. Also he and his friend are now stuck in Bangkok as everyone tries to flee SE Asia at once.

We are so lucky. Our planet was not always as stable geologically and weather-wise as it is now. Every once in a while it reminds us what it is capable of.

Have you seen the news lately? They estimate that the death toll (~50,000) might double due to cholera and other diseases…ugh =( Hope the UN gets some help in there soon to save those people. Some retarded doctor was on fox news and got asked how they could stop the spread of cholera in this place, after they already said that the water would easily become contaminated because their systems weren’t that great in the first place and then add in all of the dead bodies…and the tool had the audacity to say that the best thing they can do is to try and keep their water clean. WELL DUH! But that’s impossible, so find another solution smartypants lol.
