I just opened up the drain cover in our shower, stuck a long wire down it, and pulled out a huge nasty hairy gnarly ball of unidentifiable sludge the size of a small lemon. Re-screwed the drain cover, turned on water, water flowing freely.
No need for a plumber or yet more Drano.

However I surely need to schedule a haircut soon. It’s halfway down to my ass.
Once a week, put a cup of baking soda in the drain. Follow with 1 cup of white vinegar. (the ensuing chemical reaction is safe and fun to watch.) Then flush with hot water. If you do this weekly, you will never have a clog in that drain again. Sludge can’t build up.
