The other night I had this very odd dream. In one part of the dream, there was a row of guys sitting in seats on a train with me, all dressed similarly, and all with mustaches. As my eyes moved down the row of men in the dream, my thought was definitely, “huh, they all have mustaches?”
But here’s the weird part: the next morning I was telling Brian about my dream, and he remarked that he, too, had had a dream that featured a bunch of guys dressing alike who all had mustaches. I was like, no way, dude.
Have I mentioned that Brian has the shining? Or possibly the shinning.

Wow…that’s crazy! Did you guys watch a movie with dudes in mustaches by any chance? Dream theory is very interesting. One theory is that dreams are your subconcious thoughts being played out. Another is that your mind is filtering through the things you learned that day and tossing junk out. Another is word association, this accounts for the really weird ones – like a trash can, a car, etc (this goes with the filtering idea). And a popular idea is that you dream about the thing you last talked about or did. Interesting stuff =)
Dream theory / suggestion is interesting stuff.
This is how I like to explain things like sharing a dream with someone: Thought is energy and humans are capable of picking up on various energys if they are in a calm/relaxed state.
This plays a pretty big role in bujinkan/ninpo training.
Hmm who had that energy theory…I can’t remember the dude (omg I suck, I just learned this) but some psychologist had the same idea (probably took it from bujinkan training!) that all thoughts and actions create psychic energy and it is transformed just like regular energy.
Buddhist psychology is also very neat. Sounds like the training you’ve learned would be super interesting!
