I did this lower body workout yesterday that ended up giving me sore quads today. It would be rad to have one day with absolutely no pain, but I guess that is too much to ask for.
After cleaning the house a bit today, I went for a long walk — from my house in the Sunset up and over Twin Peaks to the Castro. It took about 45 minutes and involved many hills. I tried to take smaller, quieter streets, and thus was able to notice the many massive and beautiful multi-million dollar houses on the way. A particularly perfect street on which to view meticulously appointed homes is: Uranus St. Not kidding. These houses were huge, cheerfully painted, and always with just one number on the door. Lived in by one of two types of person: very, very wealthy, or lucky enough to have bought their house over twenty years ago, and therefore are now very, very wealthy. I walked along with a mixture of deep envy and admiration. Mostly envy.
The average price of San Francisco homes has increased by almost 30% in the past year. Has the economy and job market followed? Of course not. The explanation involves the extremely weak dollar, and non-Americans capitalizing on that, if you will. Sigh.
We accepted a long time ago that we will never be rich or desperate enough to buy a house here. There are literally hundreds of other places we would be happy to move to, and 100% of them are more affordable.
Anyway. I ended up on Castro. I went to the Bead Store and purchased a string of freshwater pearls for $22, which I will have made into a bracelet for thee wedding day. Then I walked down to Peets for coffee and newspaper. After that I pretty much walked to the N and went home to rest and start dinner. I really need to stretch more at the end of the day. This evening I’ve been rotating my heating pad between my back and my right quad. And watching the dog show from last night. I want a doggie! I like Dachshunds and German Shepherds. And huskies. And Australian Shepherds. Etc.
Blah blah blah!
Tomorrow: gym, lunch with Brian, bridal shop, doctor’s, acupuncture. In that order.

Have you been doing the acupuncture for a while? Have you found that it helps?
I’ve had one treatment on my shoulder and I’m amazed at the difference. This shoulder that has been aching on and off since 1999 (I fell on the ice and threw everything out on one side). I’m hoping that if I continue, that pain will be gone completely.
I don’t know yet, it’s only been 4 weeks I think. I did cupping last week and it really hurt. Don’t know if it helped or not since the bruises have only started to heal.
I get 8 sessions through worker’s comp though, which is rad (and free). If, after these 8, I think it is helping and they don’t cover any more sessions, I may stay on my own (through my insurance) because I like this particular practitioner a lot.
