Today was planned to be our romantic date day, to make up for how we stayed in on Valentine’s Day. Well, the whole thing was a secret planned by Brian, and I was surprised! He reserved a car from City Car Share, and we drove up north to Marin where we ended up in the Point Reyes hiking trails, taking a three-mile walk. I would have done the eight-mile one if we had had more time and had it not been raining. But it was gorgeous and splendid and we saw very many deer up close. In fact we saw a couple of pure white deer, which we dubbed The Enchanted Fawns. Because it made us laugh. It was such a good day.

After the hike we drove back down through Sausalito and had dinner. I ate a bigass Dungeness crab and we split a vanilla sundae. Our table was right against this window with a panoramic view of the bay and the City. It was swoony. But we were so tired. Home now to lay on the sofa and watch a tivo of The O.C.

We decided on how we will be labeling our reception tables at the wedding. Instead of numbering (table 1, 2, etc), they will be named for great racehorses who did not win the Kentucky Derby. I thought of five pretty easily, and found the other three online in short order. I am a horse girl.
