« it’s day one

these will do

February 13, 2005 by Jane

We had a productive city car share day, going to Trader Joes and Target and so on. I bought two 4-yard pieces of beautiful fabric at this fabric store–both of which were on sale–so I could make curtains. Also got sharp scissors and some spools of thread. All excited to, um, make my sewing machine work, for one. Ert! Maybe some night this week you could tutor me? Yes, I know you are totally busy.

On the way back from dropping off the city shared car, I got my replacement weddin’ shoes, these with a quite walkable, danceable 1.5″ heel (see above). I love my feet.

Tonight: addressing the invitations! OMG! Also need to pick up around the house a bit. Brian is at training tonight; kid’s class has started up again.

The next three weeks I get to practice the role of a housewife. Oddly intrigued about this. Like, I could actually begin preparing a nice dinner for my man around 4:00. And then I could get out the ironing board and iron things whilst staring out into the backyard! Oh, how very heavenly it sounds!

No, no, no you stare at your soap operas while ironing.

But I can’t see the TV from the kitchen where the ironing board is (built into the wall)!

      Liz,

you really made me har out loud with that one.

Man, staying at home and making gourmet meals and ironing sounds very appealing….

I have a teeny tiny b&w TV in the kitchen, but mostly so I can watch the news while I make dinner and thus multitask.

Oh. I need one of those. The tiny TV in the kitchen was a staple of my youth.

I’m pretty sure that the main reason I have it is because the tiny b&w was a staple of my youth too. In fact, I got mine when my mom graduated to the tiny color model.

We had a wee b&w in the kitchen in my youth, too. I watched “KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park” on it.

Plus, like kitten heels are so much cooler than 4-inchers. IMHO.

Much better, what color are they? They look olive green.

            Re: shoes

Hi Mom! The brocade is taupe, and the leather part of the shoe is close to olive green yes. But it works. Detailed pic here.

You are so right, Liz. They are very cute, and will be so much easier to break in. AND I can wear them after, with jeans even!
