Ok I guess a bigger fuck you to the oil companies was my not owning a car for nine years. BUT STILL. 45 MPG ain’t bad either. We’ll probably feed our new car once a month or so.
Things that will change now that we have a sweet new vehicle:
+ no more lugging 25 pounds of groceries back to the house uphill in the pouring rain, as I did on Sunday
+ can now easily take kitties to the vet
+ can now easily buy cat food and litter in large quantities
+ can now easily visit friends who don’t live in San Francisco near a MUNI line
+ can now get away for the weekend if we feel like it without going through rental car hassle
+ costco
+ we could even drive to seattle!
+ now will actually pay attention to gas prices, sorta
+ no more standing around waiting for MUNI on the weekends
+ will have to deal with parking and traffic and nutjob asshole drivers 🙁
+ Brian can drive to training instead of being at the mercy of the horrible 19 and 36 buses
+ the police will now actually be a presence in my life
+ etc
Brian and I are so excited. And the hybrid was the ONLY car we considered.
Thank you City Car Share! You were a great service to use, now gimme my deposit back.
