et, tu?

March 15, 2005 by Jane

So at the gym last night I decided I needed to add variety into my cardio. The elliptical can get boring, plus I had no iPod and no magazines. Soooo sloooow. So I went over to the stairclimb machines, which are equipped with screens where you can surf the web and watch TV. I had blown those off before, thinking I was so above watching TV while working out. Then I discovered how FAST it makes the workout fly by.

Imagine my joy today then when I arrived at the gym just in time for a spring training baseball game to start on ESPN2. Forty minutes of cardio breezed by, burned 300 calories, watched the White Sox clobbering the Angels. It was baseball nerd/fitness dork bliss. And tomorrow around the same time, the Giants are playing! Wee!

Ides of March To-Dos:

+ take knives to Andronico’s to be sharpened
+ clean litterbox and mop kitchen floor
+ buy cat food
+ do some yoga
+ drag poor old rat-infested Poof Chair to the curb
+ stab Julius Caesar in the back

Dude, that stairmill is great. Even if you do it at a slow speed, it will lift your butt like nobody’s business.

Yeah I thought of that too! Serious butt exercise, not to mention calves and hamstrings and so on. I can’t believe how fast 40 minutes seemed to go by.

Wait. The armchair had rats inside?!

It’s more of a beanbag chair, and yes, our garage got infested with rats. My landlord keeps a whole bunch of food down there so the rats were stoked. They also made a nest in the poof chair and ate some of my landlord’s clothes. Alas.
