Sometimes when I am at Andronico’s supermarket, I check out their clearance/close-out shelf in their housewares department, which is usually nothing but odd dishes and seasonal napkins, etc. So tonight I had a look as I was stopping in to grab some potatoes and what did I see in a nondescript stack next to the clearance shelf?
Why, a whole bunch of plain white boxes, each containing a brand-new Le Creuset enameled cast iron 2 3/4-quart Dutch oven, that’s what. Retail price is $165.
I got mine for $49.99. Aw YEAH.
No way. That rocks.
It’s a very good size for two people + leftovers, but it is too small to make a chicken in or anything. But that’s okay as I almost never cook whole chickens. Tonight I am making tomater sauce in it!
