So far this spring I have not eaten a single Cadbury creme egg. I used to go through one or two of those a day around Eastertime. I LOVE those things. Only the original ones, not the caramel ones, not the rip-offs. Only the real Cadburys will do. But they are so uber-sweet. Tooth-hurtingly so. Sigh.
I will treat myself to one next week or something. Special gooey treat with coffee.
Back in 1998 my ex and I went to Walgreens on the way home from work and bought like a half-dozen of those eggs, went back to his place, and ATE THEM. Yargh.
I did another forty minutes on the stairmill today, while watching the Giants losing to the Mariners. I am going to have my fabulous can again in no time!
My scarf is almost done. I went through one skein of green yarn and have the multi-colored one left to get through, and then I will call it done. To me it still looks kind of sloppy, but the colors and yarn are great and I know my next one will be lots better.
Not feeling any real wedding stress right now, everything seems to be going okay, except that some guests are being really slow sending back reply cards, and in reserving blocked out hotel rooms. No big deal though. Had to write a few big checks this week, and next weekend is the mother of all big checks, ahh. But we’ve been planning and budgeting and knew it was coming. So really things are going fine. I just need to remind myself that on the wedding day, I am NOT going to be managing anything or “handling” anything.
It’s a weird thing to imagine since up to now I have been the main person to manage everything, and on the wedding day itself I will simply get my hair done, put on my gown, marry my best friend, eat some great food, dance a little, talk to everyone, and then be whisked home to relax with my husband. No, I will not be cleaning up. No, I will not be looking for someone’s lost coat.
I mean, ideally.

Sorry we’re being lame on the hotel, I’m waiting on Ursy’s move status.
No, you’re fine. We just got a call yesterday from the King George Hotel (the slightly more expensive and slightly more fabulous hotel) that no one had reserved any rooms yet, so that made us fret a little bit… I hope some people stay there! It’s such a cute hotel.
While looking at photos/sites for all of this last night:
Jesse: what’s that Sephora store?
Allison: hours of boredom for you.
Har! It’s funny cos it’s true. I’ve dragged Brian to Nordstrom’s makeup section with me a couple times, but I wouldn’t dream of subjecting him to Sephora.
Oh and I just emailed the King George and asked them to match the price at the Powell. If they agree to that, you may wanna go there… it’s only a couple blocks from the Powell and very cute. I was planning to stay there myself, but they don’t have any suites. I will let you know…
keep me posted. I just talked to Ursy – they haven’t even given notice yet as they’ve had no luck finding a place. Sucky. If it was just me, I would like, crash on their bedroom floor or whatever, but I don’t wanna drag Jesse all the way out there, on “vacation” to have to deal with Ursy and Tim’s crazy alcoholic roomate. We *will* be getting a hotel. My mom is gonna look in her monster enterainment/coupon book for me, but if the George matches the price, we’ll take it. Tell ’em that.
reservations
I made my hotel reservations on the phone via the 800 number, which turns out to be the “overflow” for the King George. It did not know about the held rooms, although I got the same rate with my AARP membership. So does the reservation desk KNOW about the arrangements or is only through the 415 number? Love, Mom
Re: reservations
Did you mention the wedding party? Hmm. I am hoping that they reduce the rate a little, maybe if they do you can get yours lowered. You’re staying three nights, right?
cadbury egss arent as…creamy?…as they used to be and therefore not as fun.
i am the queen of the rsvp!
You guys were replying pros.
Don’t even tell me they changed the Cadbury egg recipe. NOOOOO
Oh man, I wish I had the willpower you do! I have fallen to the mighty power of the Cadbury Cream egg. Luckily, they don’t make ’em like they used to. They used to be all watery on the inside and now they’re more firm…just not the same. Yesterday was a bad, bad indlugence day for me. So, today I made a rule. Every time I *almost* buy a snack such as horrible chocolate easter candies, I’m gonna put a dollar in a jar. If I buy that stupid thing, it costs me what the candy costs, plus two dollars in the jar! Maybe this way I can stop myself from eating that crap. It doesn’t help that Mike is a stick and bought two packages of reese’s eggs and one of snickers eggs =/
Soooo true about the wedding day! No stressing, get all the stress out now because it is YOUR day and everyone else needs to take care of the crap that goes wrong. Like someone told me, if something goes wrong on the wedding day, don’t sweat it. It won’t do any good and you’ll get frusterated. Just go on like nothing happened and have a good time – your guests won’t even notice whatever it is 🙂
