I’m so bored. It’s hard to sit up straight with a nicely arched lower back, did you know that? I guess it’s not hard if your body fits in your chair or if you’re a yoga master. And it’s not hard if the chair has firm lumbar support (most chairs adamantly do not).
I think we might go to pilates tonight. We = me and Brian. It was even his idea! He is such a cutehead and also the bestest ever.
Last night I started the staining process on the console table I bought. I’ve never stained a piece of furniture before. I know, how lame. Anyway, I think it’s going to look good. Except had I read the can of stain at the store I would have realized that I need some steel wool to scrub off the first layer of polyurethane before I apply the second coat, so um, I hope the hardware store by our house is open til 7 or 8 (doubt it).
Tonight is Write Our Vows night. I’m excited. I wonder what I will Vow to do? I promise to let you sleep in on Sundays, baby. I promise I will protect you from the evils of garlic…
It is possible we could have our new car in one week. Or more possibly, two weeks. Wouldn’t that be fantastic? It’s kind of going to change our lives. I dimly recall car ownership. Taking for granted just zipping over to a friend’s house at a moment’s notice.
The salesman said a few things that are, in retrospect, shady. But he’s a car salesman, so I expected it. Like, “you don’t really need to do a down payment.” Right because then you guys make more money in interest, right? Also, “You could just put the down payment on your credit card.” Why would I do that when I have the cash right now? He also gave us this ludiculously inflated APR from Toyota Financial, which I kind of snorted at, and told him we would be going through our credit union for our loan.
It’s like these people encourage financial irresponsibility. No wonder most of the country lives on credit. Well, not us.
Ten minutes til I can leave!

You’re smart!
I wasn’t, and it has made things quite crappy financally. 🙁
Okay, this might be stupid but, is your credit card linked to a travel mileage plan? Bc if it is, you might want to pay with the credit card and then pay each statement in full. That way you could use the credit card company to your advantage, kwim?
rant
buying a car was a miserable experience. they offered us some crappy interest rate but *assured* us that our credit union would give us a better rate and we could just change to the credit union w/i a certian amount of time. i told homeboy that he had NO idea what i would get from my credit union. we got them to give us a very reasonable interest rate, but only after we said they could follow up with our credit union. they call me the next day and say…oh bad news, your credit union will only give you (supersuperhigh) rate. they tried to take back their offer!!!!! oh heeeccccckkkkk no.
who thinks garlic is evil?! once i am healed i would like for you to tell me about that book of yours. im working on my posture as i type…
Re: rant
We aren’t even dealing with the salesman until we get the loan from our credit union. We like them. I am also prepared to play hardball and produce a copy of my credit report which states that I am an “ideal candidate” for a loan. Bitches.
Poor Brian is allergic to garlic. It’s very sad.
Re: rant
dont be afraid to bring out the big guns!!!
allergic to garlic? that is the single saddest thing i have heard today. or maybe even the last week. i need garlic to live.
