decompressing

May 4, 2005 by Jane

I still feel kind of stressed out for some reason. Tressed out? So excited for the haircut in… two and a half hours.

I feel stressed because I don’t feel like things are “normal” yet. I’ve been caught up in the wedding for a year now, and it was fun and worth it. But our apartment still bears evidence all over the place, of bills, party remnants, leftovers, packaging, projects, and so on. I still need to basically just put everything away.

My to-dos for tonight:

+ call the Forest Hill Club House and arrange to pick up the two (!) mens suits left at the reception. Still not claimed by anyone… ? weird. Also my power strip, I need that back.
+ get our spare keys from Yuri and Nick and give them strawberries.
+ pay the power bill and otherwise deal with household bills issues.
+ pay and send the final catering bill.
+ organize the low cupboards in the kitchen now that we have a pot rack (yay space saving).

French class last night was interesting. I am the only student who enrolled in this level this term (they are eight-week sessions, which is very nice). So I am kind of getting private tutoring. It makes the class only one hour instead of 90 minutes. My instructor is this guy who I think is American, but fluent in French, and would only speak French for the first half hour. It was fun. I have never had one-on-one instruction for anything, and for language it is especially valuable. So I’m excited to keep going. I kind of do hope another student shows up, it will take the heat off me for a few minutes at least.

So tonight: go to Sephora after work and maybe get some fun body powder, then go to haircut, then home under my umbrella, and get to work on my to-do list.

wait… you can afford Sephora but you don’t have a coffee maker?

Har. Sephora sells cheapie makeup too, ya know!

The whole coffeemaker thing is because well, I just never got around to it, and making individual coffees with the single-serving filter cone was fine… until they had a real coffeemaker at the honeymoon condo and it was just soooo easy and I could have TWO CUPS! I know, pathetic.
