hairs

May 5, 2005 by Jane

So my hair was cut off last night. About nine inches of it. I sat down in Donelle’s chair and before we even went for the shampoo sink, she hacked off six inches with a pair of scissors. Might as well not waste any time washing what will end up on the floor anyway. Bye bye hair! It took over two years to grow out. It will grow back.

Then after a good washing and head massage, she went to work with the shears and razor. Cut many chunky layers into the ends, cut out much weight, and now it falls exactly to my shoulders. It’s cute and light and fun, and EASY. I’m happy with it. I can’t wait to go home tonight and wash it again though — it’s still full of micro-hairs and a little too much styling product.

My hair is wavier than it used to be. Which gives it even MORE volume. It will need taming after every wash, so it doesn’t get too big.

Got almost everything done on the to-do list last night, everything except the last item. Maybe tonight. My back hurts right now. But it’s been two weeks since my last acupuncture treatment and only in the last couple days (well, since I came back to work) has the back pain flared up. So I’m pretty excited to going to my pokey appt today at 4:00.

Two things to do tomorrow: go to the gym, and buy groceries. Very excited for an imminent Friday. I should go to the gym before work. It’s the best time to go and I always feel great when I manage it. But it requires getting downtown NO LATER than 8:00 am. Which means being on the train at 7:20. Which means getting out of bed at 6:30. Bleah. How does my husband do it every day? Superpowers.
