I went swimming today before lunch. I hadn’t been in the pool in like four or five months. Now that I have much shorter hair, it’s that much less of a hassle to swim. Just wet my hair and tucked it into my cap.
It was fairly easy to get back into my stroke. I was sloppy for the first ten minutes, but then warmed up. I tried out my flip turn and found I could still do it. I decided not to count laps, and instead to just look at the clock and swim for thirty minutes.
Now I feel all loose and need a nap. I’m going home early today to receive a UPS package, and I’ll have a lie-down too. I hope to swim every day this week. I really want to see what effect it has on my back, which was in minor pain all weekend.
Then again this weekend we did get a lot done around the house. I reorganized some cabinets and drawers that had just gotten out of hand. I got a little rack for stacking pan lids vertically. Stuff like that. Space-saving is pretty important in our old-fashioned 1940s kitchen, it turns out.
More swimming is going to mean more lotion on my skin, I reckon.

I highly recommend Oil of Olay Quench skin lotion.
