swam

May 24, 2005 by Jane

Before lunch I swam laps for thirty minutes. Finally getting the hang of that flip turn again. Finally able to swim two full laps without taking a break to catch my breath. So the better my breath endurance gets, the better I will be on other cardio exercises.

I had to switch lanes halfway through because they closed a couple of them off for the swim club. They swim eight people to a lane, all moving in a speedy circle. Watching them made me feel inefficient. On my final laps I tried to be conscious of little adjustments I could make in my stroke in order to be cleaner and faster.

After swimming, my body felt so loose. Every muscle activated. I wish I could go in the hot tub at the Y. But unfortunately they overchlorinate it and when I used to go in, my skin would get itchy and red directly afterward. Not just from the heat, either. Felt more like a chemical burn.

You’re welcome.
