What my husband did for his sick wife last night:
+ brought me a fresh box of kleenex (with lotion!)
+ washed the dishes
+ neck rub
+ gave me a get well card with a picture of a frog on it, and emailed me a get well e-card with a picture of monkeys
Is he not the best ever? We’ve now been married six weeks, and together two and a half years, and I still pinch myself at how lucky I am to have him.
Anyway today is day two of my sudden and merciless cold. I stayed home both days because I have learned that going to work during the first few days of a cold adds an extra week or two to your recovery time. So, plenty of laying on the couch napping today. Which is made doubly lame by the fact that we are having gorgeous and perfect weather this week (ie: you can go outside without a jacket).
I think I am past the worst of it. Hopefully I will sleep better tonight. Difficult to sleep when one nasal cavity has become bone dry and the other is plugged up. Maybe I’ll put some lip balm up in there.

Orange juice
cures everything.
Go get a BIG jug of OJ, and drink the whole thing. When it’s gone, go get another one and drink that. After 3 or 4, you’re good as new. Works every time.
Re: Orange juice
Um, 4 glasses of pure sugar? No thanks. I’d rather drink 4 glasses of water and get my vitamin C from broccoli. 🙂
Re: Orange juice
I’m tellin’ ya, germs flee the fructose!
🙂
I’m also sick as hell during beautiful weather. I feel your pain. My nice-boy treatment has included bringing me a new bottle of ibuprofen, bringing carryout (tofu & veg soup, mmm) from the best chinese place, and stopping in to check on me once while working – pulling the truck up on the sidewalk in front of my house, leaving the flashers on. heh.
That is so awesome! He’s a good one. I actually had a dream about you — you were getting married on August 15 and I was one of the eleven people invited to your wedding. Which is silly since you’ll probably have like 200 people at your wedding 🙂
Get better soon!
My wedding will have hula dancers. And a hip-hop DJ. People will be encouraged to bring their dogs.
oh gosh I always hate that, when one nostril is clear and the other plugged so you keep changing sides to try and even it out =( I hope you feel much better very soon!
Awwww to the cards! That’s so darn cute 🙂
