Yesterday I didn’t do much, just a few house chores, a walk to Cole Valley hardware, made dinner, waited for Brian to get home from work. Then we watched “Rabbit-Proof Fence,” which was a very good movie that has now entered the very small and private club known as “movies that have made Jane cry.”
LORD my cats are cute. It’s insane. I’m lucky that not only are they cute, they’re charming.
So, I got up pretty early today. Brian was getting ready for work again, and doing the washing up. Rather than make breakfast, I suggested we walk to Arizmendi bakery, since they open at 8am Sundays.
Outside the sky is a shroud of dense clouds, the color of doves. It hangs so low and so heavy that we walked through curtains of superfine mist all the way to the bakery. I got an apple-raisin-walnut muffin, Brian got corn blueberry raspberry. We sat on the bench across the street and waited for his train. He left the car with me because I need to go grocery shopping, and because today is Gay Pride Day and thus not a good day for driving crosstown. Even if he does stay there until 10pm poor thing.
Today’s to dos:
+ clean and organize the linen closet
+ clean and organize the office closet
+ wash sheets and make bed
+ trader joes
+ sweep the floors
+ water plants
+ baseball on tv; softball in the park
+ practice French by watching Tivo’d “French in Action” shows from PBS
Voila.

That movie totally made me cry too.
I think my mama hormones were manipulated by the “babies being stolen from their mother” scene.
