Me on May 31: “I don’t think I can say as much for the A’s. I think they’re done.”
Thanks for proving me wrong, guys! Since that day, the Athletics have been one of the hottest teams in baseball, just swept the team with the best record (sorry Leonard), and finished at the half finally above .500. YAY. In fact, it’s the Giants whose wheels have fallen off.
ANYWAY it’s been a nice weekend. Pretty relaxed yet productive. Last night we watched “Maria Full of Grace,” or as we liked to call it, “Maria Full of Dozens of Vials of Cocaine.” It was a really excellent movie, and riveting enough in its scenes of smuggling drugs in ones body to give Brian a stomachache.
Brian’s birthday on Tuesday! For the occasion, our car insurance agent sent him a card and a losing lottery ticket. Gee thanks?
I just repotted my poor dying spider plant, and now to finish up the housework before laying around watching the end of “Bartleby.”

I gotta say, that’s a great icon!!
I had a pretty mellow weekend as well- Went shopping down in a neighborhood here called “Old Town”, where I loaded up on the BEST spice blends ever, some great fudge, Walked past Second City, petted some puppies, and all sorts of farmer’s market related fun later on. You’re really going to like Chicago!!
Thanks! I swapped out half my icons this afternoon, I was getting bored with them.
You’re welcome ^_^
And, That particular sign in your icon got a refurbishing not too long ago- It looks brand-new now!
bartleby. what a movie.
i have a small collection of CHG stuff. he’s a loony.
He’s the only celebrity I have ever asked for an autograph. He was the special guest at the Olympia Film Festival years ago and screened the rarely-seen short film he did called “The Orkly Kid.” Then there was a little table upstairs where you could go meet him, which I did. The dumbest part of the story is that the only thing I had with me that he could sign was a BART ticket worth 5 cents.
belated congrats…..
Hey Jane
I haven’t been reading for MONTHS I’m afraid. tsk.
Just had a look at the wedding pics. Looks like an amazing day, and you guys look so happy.
So, my belated congratulations to you both.
Neil
Re: belated congrats…..
Thank you very much Neil! And good luck with buying a house, too.
