low energy

March 10, 2003 by Jane

I got sick last Tuesday, and still have a head cold. Yet I did my best to not allow this to spoil our trip north. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The north coast is lovely. My boyfriend is the superest. He’s a superhero. Seriously.

Today I am back at work and feeling sooooo slow and out of it. I blame my immune system.

Last night I had fun troubleshooting our persistent DSL troubles and pinging over and over again. Sometimes, 0% packet loss. or 40% packet loss. Or, 100% packet loss! Who needs these stinky packets anyhow. We finally isolated the issue; it appears to be a faulty phone jack or wire. When the modem is plugged into another jack, there was no packet loss. I am still glad we switched from evil SBC to Speakeasy.

Animals we saw on our trip: many little birdies, cows, sheep, horses, llamas, a cat named Angel, deer, some red-headed hawks, dogs on the beach, sand fleas, a garter snake.

We also watched a rescue helicopter descend outside our room and lower two divers into the ocean. Well, onto a rock in the ocean. We thought maybe they were collecting a dead body. But no, they were just changing the island’s lightbulb. Not so exciting after all.
