Yesterday was the anniversary of two things. I meant to post about them, but I was too busy walking around the botanical gardens, buying new black sneakers, hanging out — with Brian. We had a good lazy day. I loved the giant agave plant in the park, looking like a Tim Burton sculpture. I hopped away from bumblebees and Brian told me poison ivy stories. I’ve never gotten the poison ivy, but I used to get brushed by nettles often in many of my childhood summers.
Anyway, yesterday was the first anniversary of my cat Sasha’s birth. In spite of this he is still very much a kitten. He probably won’t be mellowing out for another year or so.
Yesterday was also the fifth anniversary of my online journal. It starts over at jane.org, back on April 26, 1998. Hard to believe. My life has changed a lot since then, as much as one might expect for a period of five years, but I am still unmarried and childless. Free like a bird, in love and happy, and in a couple months, roommate and I are going to move to a newer, better apartment. We just can’t take listening to engines and car stereos all day every day anymore. The search starts next week.

Hopefully there won’t be any OONTZ OONTZ in the new place. I’ll cross my fingers for you.
HI SIXEN!
I intend to inquire about this as much as I can and stipulate that I need QUIET. Hopefully we’ll get a duplex or single family home, and any wall-sharing neighbors will be old and square.
