GW Bush is possibly the worst president this country has ever had.
If this guy is re-elected in 2004, I (and many others) will seriously consider leaving this place while the getting’s good.
Either that or overthrowing the government like they used to do back in the day.

Um. Yeah. He’s a lot worse then James Buchanan. Or Millard FIllmore. Or Andrew Johnson.
it’s always great to meet someone who REALLY KNOWS HER HISTORY!
pretending that you’d leave the country if bush won is so 2000.
none of us believes you anymore
Re: found on friendsfriends page
I actually do know my history, little boy.
Kindly do not troll on my journal in the future.
Re: found on friendsfriends page
aw come on, you can’t seriously think he’s worse than James Buchanan!
and i’m not like, i’m like six feet tall!
Re: found on friendsfriends page
Actually most people would say that Hoover was worse than the three you cited.
But Bush is still more destructive and incompetent than all of them.
Re: found on friendsfriends page
really?
everybody loved hoover before he was prez. he totally rebuilt europe an shit!
(though everyone loved buchanan before too)
i dont’ think you can blame hoover for the depression: remember, it happened globally
plus he was mad respected when he got out of office
the other presidents seemed to like him
Re: found on friendsfriends page
Rather than continue yet another circular thread, I think I will go enjoy a nice baseball contest. Go Giants!
Re: found on friendsfriends page
go Red Sox!
Re: found on friendsfriends page
EWWWWWW!!!!
Actually it’s better than Go Yankees, so there’s that.
Re: found on friendsfriends page
hey, i’m from boston. what can one expect?
yankees. . . . they’re not a team, they’re a corporation!
i thought it was fantastic that during the world series right after 9/11 some reporter asked bush who he wanted to win and he was like “not the new york yankees”

Jesus Christ. The last thing I need is a laundry list of reasons to hate George W. Bush even more than I already do. I’m practically sick to my stomach…
I already have plans in the works to leave the U.S. – if he’s reelected – and colonize a secret utopia somewhere where no one can bother us. If you’ve read Atlas Shrugged, think “Galt’s Gulch”. 🙂
I don’t understand how it’s possible to take the biggest surge of global U.S. support (post 9/11) and, a scant 1 1/2 years later, turn it into nearly unilateral distaste around the world. I mean, honestly, even Andrew Johnson or Millard Fillmore or Marion fucking Barry wouldn’t have screwed that one up.
Ugh.
Re: also found you on friendsfriends
I think living in another country, even for a short while, is something every American should do if they are able. Even Canada. It opens one up to what other cultures have that we do not, and vice versa.
So even if for no other reason than that, I would consider it a tremendous opportunity to spend some time in Canada (which I have never visited), France, Ireland, Spain, etc.
Also I have heard good things about Cairo, believe it or not, but that sort of move would take someone braver and more experienced than I.
Re: also found you on friendsfriends
Honestly, if I had the money to get somewhere else, I would feel totally comfortable just about anywhere else in the world. And I would definitely do it.
Just yesterday my best friend was asking me to accompany him on a trip he’s planning to Iran and Turkey. Were it not for the prohibitively expensive cost, I’d go in a heartbeat.
Americans in general are pretty provincial when it comes to grasping other cultures – how they live, what they go through on a daily basis, what their priorities are, etc. We all ought to be obligated to spend time abroad (preferably somewhere other than Europe).
I don’t know about Canada, though. I’ve always thought of our neighbors to the north as sort of the jayvee United States. 😉
Re: also found you on friendsfriends
Canada would definitely be the easiest country to acclimate to if I didn’t want to make a completely radical change.
I have been to Europe three times, and have had great experiences there with my French and English friends. Definitely a very different culture. I am actually not too keen on living in Britain at this point, but France would be nice if I could get up to speed on my non-conversational French.
If I traveled the world more often, I would definitely want to move on to more non-Western cultures. But one needs a more carefree lifestyle than the one I have now to do that (that is, travel the world often).
Would you say that you’re less carefree because a) you are currently occupied with school, work, family, etc.; or b) it’s in your nature to shy away from completely spontaneous and irresponsible adventures?
Bit of both. Like, who would feed my cats? Pay my rent? Etc. It’s just a bigger deal when you’re 30 than when you’re 21.
Which is how old I was when I put everything into my car and drove to California with no job and no place to live. Wooooo!!!
I’m about halfway between California and feeding the cats. And with each passing day, I seem closer and closer to the litterbox.
Man, I really gotta sack up and get the hell out of here. Talk about having no ties – no job, no school, very little debt (but no liquid assets either), no girlfriend…if not now, when?
:slaps self:
already planning on leaving this fucking mess of a country…
and going to B.C.
2005.
No leaving
I don’t think anyone should be leaving America at a time like this. You should come live in beautiful:
NEW MEXICO
Hell half of America doesn’t even know it’s a state and it’s still in it’s adolescence!! It’s the new Canada without the goofy accent. Seriously though, we had a Repub Governor who wanted to make pot legal!! Come on, it’s doesn’t get much better than this, we even voted for Gore in ’00.
I’m all about promoting this state. Frankly I think the southwest/west coast should start it’s own country. NM, AZ, NV, CA, OR & WA. We could have wars with Texas and try to re-enact the crusades in Utah. Oh yeah and hang the rich in Colorado. Awww the dreams of a Nihilist……
