In case anyone was wondering my position on this, I strongly believe that the war is illegal, immoral, and unconscionable. Moreover, the consequences that the United States will reap for decades to come will cause untold harm to this nation, and take who knows how long to repair.

The first step, and the most important thing any American who gives a shit about the world can do, is to remove Bush from office as soon as it is legally possible.

Here is an interesting if depressing article about our fine, lying, killing machine, the Bush Administration.

Also, please read this important speech made by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1967 about the Vietnam War. Below is a quote from that speech which I feel is rather haunting considering current events. It is attributed to a Vietnamese Buddhist leader:

“Each day the war goes on the hatred increases in the heart of the Vietnamese and in the hearts of those of humanitarian instinct. The Americans are forcing even their friends into becoming their enemies. It is curious that the Americans, who calculate so carefully on the possibilities of military victory, do not realize that in the process they are incurring deep psychological and political defeat. The image of America will never again be the image of revolution, freedom and democracy, but the image of violence and militarism.“
