Why I May Never Be a Real Writer »

I am inordinately excited for the release of the film Seabiscuit. This movie is my Star Wars! As it were. Only not THAT dorky.

I slept very poorly last night. I know I stayed up too late, then I crawled into bed and couldn’t fall asleep. Sasha flopped around at the foot of the bed, as he does. Simon came along at around 5:30 to sit next to me. Soft grey light filtered weakly past my new brown curtain. Four hours of sleep. I tried to nap some more and I think for five seconds I may have dreamed of Barry Zito pitching, only his face looked much older. He’s pitching tonight in Seattle; hope he wins.

When I ride the train to work and the seats are all full when I get on, I know that if I stand near one of the sitting teenagers, I’ll get a seat when they all disembark at 16th street to attend summer school. Just a handy tip.

Tonight I’ll be at Pac Bell Park enjoying a hot dog and my Giants. Thanks to my pal Ert for the ticket! After the game I’ll take the train through the foggy city and to the arms of my guy, who shall impress me with his sexy new haircut and shoes.
