anti-materialism

August 9, 2003 by Jane

The steps on the steep hill that comprise the sidewalk near my house total 153. Last night I climbed them five times at a good trot, walked back down six times. Ahh. Good to exercise outdoors.

By the way: I am never again buying kitty litter of the non-clumping variety. Anything else — you may as well use sand. Mmmm, urine slush.

Went shopping today downtown, and in spite of entering numerous stores, I didn’t buy. This is a good thing. I think I just felt aimless, and started thinking about how every single thing in the shop was just crap, overpriced, junk I don’t need. I tried on some lip gloss and the saleswoman was all clingy, as they always are. Such a total turnoff to me. Stop suggesting shit, I know what I want.

Anyway. I was in a down mood due to an all-day tummyache. It’s mostly gone now. The weather is lovely today, walked around in a t-shirt.

I really, really need to start on my final tonight. Boy do I know how to procrastinate. Boy is it an intimidating project. Four parts, most of which I have never tried before, like reorganizing a table of contents. I do find it interesting, at least.

I found out late last night that I don’t have to go to jury duty Monday, but I am still on standby. Whee.

We stayed at the Albion River Inn, and we LOVED it. We would totally go there again. Make sure you get a room with the double jacuzzi bath! Thanks 🙂
