Last night was dark and rainy. Ten or fifteen minutes after we left our theatre after watching the hobbit movie, a power outage took out hundreds of thousands of customers in the City, mainly downtown. We watched the Metreon go totally black as we stood right outside the glass back doors.

Brian and I walked from there to Church street, about a mile. Our dinner reservations for our group were hosed. We all got a table elsewhere, and afterward went home.

The power was on in my neighborhood.

Tonight it’s still out in a few pockets. Bad time for downtown stores to not be able to open, eh?

My pal datlowen is visiting the Bay Area for xmas and came up today to hang out with me. First we went to have coffee in my ‘hood, and saw a clown car outside (multicolored VW beetle). A clown got out and sat there next to his car messing around with his box ‘o clown. Later he was on the nearest corner making balloon animals.

Next we hooked up with fellow interbunny guy Brett at a gay bar in the Castro. My First Gay Bar! Yay. I had one of them beers you have with a lemon wedge in it. I donut feel like spelling it. Anyway it was a fun neighborhood-y bar with no “attitude” or what-have-you. They played funny video clips on the big screen, along with your requisite dance videos.

THEN Nick and I walked down to Church for sushi. Mmmm. But do not get the squid. It’s like eating a piece of rubber.

It was a swell day. I have tomorrow off… what will I do?
