to move like a ghost

December 16, 2003 by Jane

Tonight I did a half hour of yoga — didn’t go to training. I just needed to relax rather than roll around and avoid punches. The yoga helped my spine and shoulders, it made me want to do it daily. Maybe i will. After all, I can watch DVDs on my computer in my room, so twenty minutes in the morning should be no problem.

I’ve been reading ghost stories and other instances of the paranormal. I love stories of the unexplained, the TRULY psychic (i.e., not someone paid to perform a trick), the extra-sensory. I always have loved that stuff, particularly stories from regular people with nothing to gain. Stories from people I know, like Brian’s experience with a premonition in a dream that was fulfilled the instant he woke up, or the time his sister read his mind.

These stories actually comfort my soul. To know that there are in fact things that science cannot always explain. Things that don’t have to be religious in some way, rather, just spooky. Objects moving on their own, unexplained sounds, and so on. Surely the force that makes all life move forward has elements and energies that we can’t possibly understand…?

I hope that doesn’t sound all New Agey… I don’t mean to. I just like ghost stories.

Winter is digging in, as much as it can here in the Bay Area. Every night at five it is black and icy cold outside. I am tired of being so cold in my apartment almost all the time. Maybe the yoga and relaxation will help.

Tomorrow: Accutane update! Ten weeks down, six to go.

Probably good that I rested since my throat feels really funny tonight like I might get sick tomorrow. I better not!

Sorry I missed it, baby. I’m glad you had fun!

    spooky

the other day at work i was really bored with like 5 hours still to go and i thought to myself i wish something would happen, god i am so bored i wish the fire alarm would go off or something.

anyway a couple of hours later this bell started ringing, turns out it was the fire alarm it took 20mins to turn it off, we got to stand outside.

a workman down the block had cut through the wrong cable causing the alarm to go off.

not that interesting but it really happened

      Re: spooky

I was getting my hair done a couple months ago, and as I sat in the chair while my lady did my color, I thought to myself, huh. I wonder what it would be like if there was an earthquake in here and I was in the chair and had to run outside or whatever with my hair all being processed and stuff.

A half hour later, I was sitting under the blowdryer and guess what happened?

A small earthquake hit the Bay Area, and my chair started shaking like it was being kicked. It was a small quake, but very noticable. Things on the walls shook. I was more than a little freaked, but also pleased.
