Drinking a strong cup of mint tea, looking out the window at the rain falling into the street.
If one’s excuse for not voting is “it was raining,” they should have their citizenship revoked. Because that is weak. People in young democracies stand in line in the hot sun for hours and hours to cast a vote. Yes, I realize Americans are spoiled by our level of comfort. No excuse! This election is very important. I voted this morning on my way to work, and was so proud to do so.
I remember well the main speaker at the Gonzalez rally I went to a couple weeks ago, shouting into the microphone: “We! Are going! TO WIN!” That felt good.
It’s a leisurely week at work… boss is in Mexico, hopefully having forgotten to vote absentee for Newsom (“I’m more conservative than you think I am,” she said to me last month, this coming from a heavily tattooed lesbian; no, I don’t get it either). Wish the rain would let up so I could go for a walk on my lunch break. Ah well.
My big cat always tries to sleep on my head at night, and push me to the middle of the bed. As a result of his face laying against mine, my cat ends up in my dreams fairly often. For example last night, when I dreamed that he was a samurai and I was bowing to him. Like Simon has enough discipline to be a samurai. He doesn’t even have fingers!
Speaking of, this picture gives me The Feelings.
