I love the iTunes Music Store. But it’s too bad you can’t return songs. I accidentally downloaded a live version of “Cars” by Gary Numan, and like most things on (non-acoustic) live albums, it sounded like ass. Oh well. Plus, they didn’t even HAVE the studio version. Delete!
I just love that I can get one song at a time. Some bands only have one song I like — I don’t want the whole CD. Like No Doubt, for instance.
I also bought some Fiona Apple, “Under Pressure” by David Bowie, some old songs by the Muffs, some Yo-Yo Ma, and that My Bloody Valentine song from “Lost In Translation” that’s so great. The store doesn’t have the soundtrack, though.
They also have no Beulah, Neutral Milk Hotel, or plenty of other things I want. Pout!
I got 36 songs I like, for a total of just under $36. And I learned today that the suggested retail on a CD is now $18.98 (before Amazon takes 30% off)! What the fuck is that about? Wake up, record industry!
Had dinner with Rena tonight. It was just lovely. We had cheese fondue and lemony drinks and dessert was espresso poured over ice cream… I should really go to bed! Wheeeee!

ooooh, the Muffs! Did you get that song “lucky guy”? I love that song, I think I played it every shift I had at the radio station, heh. Kim from the Muffs also MAKES! that NOFX track “Lori Meyers”, what a punk.
Re: musak
Yeah, I got the first five songs off their S/T album. I used to have a tape of that record and listened to it all the time!

I was curious about the prices of CDs at the largest music retailer in the country, WALMART. It looks like they are also selling music downloads, undercutting apple at 88 cents a song! Of course, they are in WMA format and only available to people using windows!
But that service, like apple’s, is only available to people in the USA. boo hoo.
Average price of a CD looks like its still around 15-20$, although everything is discounted to around 10-12$. I heard that “the Darkness” was disappointed because Walmart wouldnt carry their record, hence them not being able to become HUGE overnight like they have here, so they are making a “clean” version for them. Do you think they are sellouts? I think its kind of tough when you are trying to make a living and the largest retailer won’t carry your stuff. sucks. Not that you or I shop at Walmart, but, the rest of the country does. also suck.
