duh

January 23, 2004 by Jane

So remember how I have been waking up to the peppy, upbeat, GWBush-free oldies station every morning? Because I dunno, I guess I have this bizarre aversion to starting my day with another solemn report about more people killed in our illegal occupation of Iraq? Yeah.

I’m getting dressed and stuff just before eight when a song started playing on the station. About five seconds in, I realized that they JUST played this same song about forty minutes earlier. It’s like it doesn’t even matter. And it doesn’t. A lot of these songs are interchangable, really. But this was the exact same one.

(“Baby, Now That I Found You” by the Foundations.)

I was all housekeepy last night, washing dishes and clothes. Once I get started cleaning I can’t really bring myself to stop until it’s done. “Friends” was on in the living room but I was too busy to watch it, boo hoo, it sucked anyway.

Feeling good today. The sky is all soft and white, I have a big coffee here on my desk, and my boss isn’t coming in until noon. At which point I will have to meet with her for my annual pre-review chat, which fortunately, I think I am prepared for.

I like the song “Pluto” by Bjork.
