Tonight I finished my Japanese assignment: learn to write fifteen hiragana, and learn to count to ten. It’s preschool all over again! My love of learning languages is coming back to me.
I also hard-cooked four eggs for the upcoming week. One of my little goals is to stop buying lunch at the boring, greasy, pricey cafeteria, and instead bring food each day for lunch/snacks. Healthy, cheap, and easy. It just takes that thing I have not had lately: discipline.
The list of things I want to buy/make and bring to work:
mixed raw seeds and nuts (almonds, walnuts, sesame seeds — no salt or sugar added)
dried fruit (apricots and raisins)
sliced white cheddar with wheat crackers
brown rice
cold chicken breast
sliced carrots, bell peppers
apples and oranges
hard cooked eggs
beef jerky
tuna salad
yogurt (plain, mmmm)
peanut butter
And of course: leftovers. I also want to learn to make soup and stew, which I can freeze in pint containers and take to work. I really want to make a good beef or chicken vegetable soup. The only soup I have ever made from scratch was potato leek, and I remember it being awesome.

Dude, I can give you heaps of veggie soup recepies after I get home.
love,
*Allison
My favorite veggie soups involve squash and mushrooms 🙂
It sounds like you’re having an incredibe time! I’m so glad you have been able to update.
