Brian and I stayed in bed until eleven this morning, listening to the rain tap against the glass as it had all night.
At midnight we kissed and drank alcohol-free pear cider. Yummy. We spent the evening watching like eight episodes of “Family Guy” on DVD, which was swell. Though I did regret that I’d sent my copy of “The Office” back to Netflix. I would totally have watched that again as well.
I dreamed that I was going to be in a movie, but I don’t remember the plot of the movie because I didn’t see a script. It was being directed by Francis Ford Coppolla. At one of the meetings I saw some guy across the table, pointed at him, and said “I went to high school with you!” No idea who this character was, though. Odd dream, probably because I dreamed it after already waking, feeding the cats, and going back to bed.
To celebrate the new year, I am going to go for a run. I also opened a new packet of contact lenses and plucked my eyebrows to perfection. And finally, I cracked open my new 2004 Moleskine pocket planner. It is so aesthetically pleasing. A year or so ago, I found that PDAs were not for me; I need to write notes and lists and things on paper, with a pen. It’s my bit of Luddite-ness I hold on to.
mckennl sent me a box of absolutely amazing ginger cookies. They are soft and heavenly and very spicy with the ginger, as was intended. Very good with vanilla ice cream or a cup of coffee. And here is the recipe!
So my head cold is receding, and now I must get my muscles and bones moving again, so that I am ready for class next Tuesday.
