I walked to the SFMOMA last night after work to check out the Diane Arbus exhibit. Sorry I missed you, itsolivia! It was a great show, I may well go again since one of my job perks is free admission to the MOMA (+1, even). I should take more advantage of that; it’s a great benefit.
It was crowded for a Thursday night, but I am pretty sure a big group of KQED employees had just arrived. I walked up to the fourth floor and took my time looking at the photos, mounted in plain white frames against walls painted a neutral greenish-grey. The installations were super cool but because of the crowd I was unable to look at everything in detail. I did notice that her 35mm camera was much like the one I borrowed from my mom back in college.

After looking at the show, I went to the museum store and looked at design and decor books. I am looking for a really good book on Japanese interior and exterior design, but haven’t found one yet. I wish they’d had this one in stock.
My coffee is very nice today.

jane, wasnt it amazing!!??! i even bought the book. i need to go again to look at the more claustrophobic rooms as last night seemed too crowded.
and i had a dream with you in it last night. mark and i were outside of the museum and you came out to say hi. i woke up and was like “did that happen?”
Next time you want to go, let me know and we can go together. Plus: free admission, aw yeah.
I looked around for you but must have just missed you. I left around 6:45 or so? Ah well.
I really want a closer look at that one dark room with all the letters and postcards.
