daybreak

February 13, 2004 by Jane

I woke up at 6:45 this morning to let the cat out of my room and to go pee. On the way back I noticed a pink light filtering through the shade in the eastward-facing office.

I went in and drew the blind up. The sky was a vast palette of orange and pink, from the east bay hills on up into our western fog. It was lovely, even though I didn’t have my glasses on and it was all very blurry. But I could still make out all the fiery predawn colors.
