Dick Cheney was questioned about how he can support an amendment to the Constitution that would deny a set of rights to one group of Americans — rights that are guaranteed to all other Americans — especially in light of his own daughter being openly gay. He gave this priceless reply:
“One of the most unpleasant aspects of this business is the extent of which private lives are intruded upon when these kinds of issues come up,” he said. “I really have always considered my private — my daughters’ lives private and I think that’s the way it ought to remain.”
I see. So, privacy around your family’s personal lives is very important. Like, it should be no one else’s business what they do in their private life and how rude for anyone to intrude upon that. I get it, now. Dick.
Think about that for another minute, Dick. Think reeeeal hard about how you feel about someone intruding on your private life. Perhaps wanting to legislate how you live that life.
So basically, privacy in one’s personal life is only sacred when you’re Dick Cheney. Whose heart is as black and rotten and cold as the belly of a Halliburton toxic waste dump.

This makes me sick. I mean, we’re talking about your DAUGHTER here, Dick. How much doublespeak can this administration engage in before they finally get taken to task? When I think about how often those in the Bush administration gladly talk out of both sides of their mouths, I actually get physically upset.
God willing, we will be rid of all of this cancerous, infectious evil in eight months.
You rock my world, Jane. 🙂
