Tokyo is awesome. But we can’t really read or understand anything. Whee! The subways are delightful, in that 3 different companies run three different systems. HAI.
It is day two and I already tire of noodles. Brian and I went to a supa tonight and bought fruit, crackers, and peanut cream. Oh, and Pocky.
Our rooms are great. We have futons, tatami mats, and paper screens on the windows. But then we also have a western toilet thank god, because a public japanese toilet is: a hole in the ground.
We went to a shrine today. I got a blessing and tied it on a pole. We saw drag queens. We visited a flea market in the park and spent some money. I almost bought an old photo album someone made to document their bonsai collection. I probably should have. Brian scored one of the finest screen printed pictures I have seen. It’s on disintegrating handmade paper, is of unknown age, and is of a samurai fighting a NINJA. Everyone else was incredibly jealous that he found it. It was about Y2000.
We had a friend take photos of us in the park, they might be our “engagement photos.”
Well, my legs hurt so I am going back up to the room to watch the Yankees play the Devil Rays live in Tokyo. They showed batting practice on the news and covered Matsui only, of course.
It is raining. It is 6:30pm here. And about 1:30am back home.

AWESOME! Keep the reports coming. I’m glad you’ve adjusted so well.
Any photos to share? I am dying to see Japan!
