arigato gozaimashita

We are coming home tomorrow. The plane departs at 6pm Sunday night and arrives 11am Sunday morning. Did I mention it’s a time machine?

Tonight on tv we saw (yet another) strange program which was some kind of game show or something that featured a group of unbelievably skilled child gymnasts performing for a studio audience. Crazy shit. I love Japanese TV. The other night it was televised bowling. And by that I mean they just filmed four people bowling. Very exciting!!

In Japan there is a place called Mister Donut. We love Mister Donut. On the bag they give you is a message: “Thanks. You beautiful people.”

Have I mentioned that the cherry blossoms are peaking and are astoundingly beautiful?

At the flea market yesterday I bought a print of a geisha. Also an ancient photo album filled with photos of japanese flower arrangements.

Training is over and it was wonderful. Every day I felt more confident.

I have not missed hearing about the news in the US at all. I wonder if this means something.

The area around our hotel has lots of feral cats. This is actually good for rat control.

Today on the way to our end of training dinner we got to ride in a packed rush hour subway car, which didnt faze me as I ride the MUNI in SF. But then one must consider that today is SATURDAY and they had rush hour as usual around 5:30. Workaholics.

The other night I got to watch Tampa Bay crush the Yankees on TV at the Tokyo Dome. That was awesome. Japanese TV still refused to move the cameras from Matsui too much, even though he was the loser.

Tomorrow morning I am going shopping in Ginza. Now I sleep, and you all wake up. The jetlag at home is going to rock.

    jetlag

At least you loose an hour in DST, does that help or make it worse? Love, Mom

      Re: jetlag

I don’t think it will make a difference… 16 hours or 17 hours, it’s all pretty much the same.

Nice that I won’t have to go through the daylight savings time confusion I usually go through, except now it is replaced with something much worse.
