There is a network hooked up to the exercise/weight machines at my gym which has been logging my progress for me. I can manually enter in free weights and other activity online. It is fucking sweet. It’s like that site fitday.com but better and for workouts only.
Since I only received my ID number for them on Monday, I only have progress reports for this week, though I have been going to the gym for almost 4 weeks now. Here are the total stats for the past four days:
Cardio time logged: 2:28
Cardio calories burned: 1,464
Pounds lifted: 7,764
I have worked out every day. I am really making a habit of it. And finally today I started noticing some new definition on my arms/shoulders. I’ve stepped up my free weights max from eight pounds to ten pounds. RARR! My goal is to be able to dead lift a 20-lb hand weight. That would be a HUGE progression for me. Strength has always been my uh… weakness. But I have realized that strength training is as effective as cardio, in the way that it speeds up metabolism and can help keep me strong and flexible well into old age if I keep with it.
Our Japanese final was last night and I think I did pretty well. I was really nervous though. The test was not as difficult as I imagined it might be and I studied almost every night for the past week, so that helped. I am going to miss our cutehead sensei, but we will see her in the next class starting in August.
In other news, Brian and I applied for an adorable, charming, and perfect apartment last night. I am sending out as much positive energy to the universe as I can that we get this place, because it is literally exactly what I wanted (within our price range of course). Do I believe in jinxes? Maybe. I won’t say any more about it until I find out if we got it or not. But man, I loved this place. MAN.
I got some tacos for lunch today from the taco truck by my work. They were yummy and cheap, but about a billion degrees hotter than I like. Spicy food… it just takes over my mouth and then I can taste nothing but red-hot pain. Can’t even taste the food anymore. Why do people like this? I donut know.
Aside from that, and the usual pain in my right hip caused by the fact that it has now been three weeks and still my company has not delivered a new chair to me, I am in an excellent mood. I love the overcast grey skies outside, I love that the Giants are winning, la la la springtime!

I will send you positive LL vibes if you reciprocate…I talked to the guy who owns the place we want, he was very nice and liked me a lot. The problem is that he wants 3 people in the place, not 2, so that he can charge more money. I am trying to convince him to eat the $200 a month or so difference in order to be blessed with tenants as wonderful as melissa and I.
ooooh, I want that network thingy at my gym. That would be awesome. Instead I do the old fashioned thing of writing the weights down on a piece of paper. Does it do things like track how much weight you lifted last session? I have to write that down or I totally forget.
