wedding planning update…

Not too much to add, except that I found out that the freelance seamstress who alters my pants charges a minimum $1000 for bridal dress work. Ah, another shakedown by the “bridal industry.” What I would want is soooo simple, but hey that’s ok. This will give me the chance to kind of go back to the drawing board, as it were, and figure out a new plan, because I have no intention of spending a penny more than $500 on a dress, and I would prefer to keep it under $400, actually. My pal Shannon bought her dress off the rack for like $80 (it wasn’t labeled “bridal,” that’s why), so I know I can come up with something creative and awesome and reasonable.

I’m going to try on gowns weekend after next, just to see what they feel like and go through the experience. But I may well end up getting my dress on the eBay. I’m kind of afraid that trying on wedding gowns will be yet another clothes-shopping experience designed to make me feel like I am ridiculously short.

I think I am going to wear white tabi and sandals down the aisle. Mmmm comfort. White high-heeled shoes just wouldn’t be me.

    wedding dress

Hey, its Prom season, you may very well be able to find something in the Prom dress line which will look like a “wedding” dress. Love, Mom

Have you ever tried to wear white tabi and sandals all day? Not comfortable.
