Things!

1. I went to the gym a bunch yesterday. See, I didn’t end up going on Sunday because I had to have leisurely brunch with Leigh and go shopping and I had to buy these AWESOME garnet red Franco Sarto pumps on sale! Which truly rule. By the end of that I just wanted to come home and curl up on the sofa and watch the baseball game, so I did. Then Brian came back from training and I made chicken veggie stir fry with peanut sauce. Yum.

2. SO ANYWAY yesterday I went to the gym before work and did my usual 35 minutes of cardio and some weights and so on and so forth. But then at lunch they were having pilates class which I have never done, and my gym is like the only one in the city that doesn’t charge members extra $$ to take the precious pilates. So I went and tried that for an hour. It was very difficult, but it wasn’t lame or anything, and I liked it. I think after a couple more tries I will be able to do it well and next thing ya know, I have a body like Jennifer Aniston’s! Only much shorter, paler, and well… okay nothing like hers. Ah well. She’s a bit too stringy.

3. Then after work I went for this long thirty minute walk with Brian because we were walking from his office up to Potrero Center to meet a couple friends from the dojo. We all then walked down Bryant to Blowfish Sushi, which totally rocks. I had a Pyramid of Raw Fish. I had a sushi roll with mango and macadamia nuts in it. I had green tea cheesecake. Holy mother of dog. We watched R-rated anime on the tv sets. Oh and also! I spotted itsolivia at a nearby table at the nearly empty restaurant. Yay! I haven’t seen her in ages and she was dining with Andy, who is someone I knew eleven whole years ago in Olympia when she was known as Andy from the band Honeybucket! It turns out she is moving back to Oly, wow. That is cool. I really should visit Olympia again someday, but I just haven’t yet.

4. After our amazing sushi dinner, we headed to Theatre Yugen to see a butoh performance. Butoh is a form of Japanese modern dance/performance art. It was very cool, in fact kind of scary and disturbing. Lots of people dressed like demons and contorting around and dissonant music. In fact I am fairly certain the live orchestra used a theremin in some places, along with a xylophone, an accordion, and various metal pots. It was very cool.

5. This morning I went to another doctor appointment to see another new doctor about my hip problems. She was way better than the last one. These docs are the ones through worker’s comp. She basically said I am doing all the right things and to just be patient because it takes a few months to heal damage that has built up over years of poor sitting. Also, looks like there’s no cure for my problem. That is, being 5′ 1″ in a 5′ 7″ world. Pffft.

6. A’s are winning, Giants are losing. I am only happy with one of those things. I don’t know what the Giants need to do different, but it does not involve being swept at home by the freakin Pirates.
