Time for an update! Yay.

1. All this week and most of last week, Brian and I have been making our lunches in the morning and bringing them to work, saving ourselves a collective $10 a day, approximately. This is very good. Every dollar counts. Plus homemade lunches are inherently better. Tonight I am going to make a large amount of chicken and rice and we’ll have awesome leftovers tomorrow. Yes, it is fascinating. Our eating/spending habits. More on this later!

2. Today I registered for fall classes at city college. More Japanese, and a basic drawing class. My drawing skills are dreadfully rusty and need to be whipped into shape. But I have never tried to take two night classes in one semester before. I am going to be really busy and it might suck. But at least I won’t have to take the train out to Balboa Park anymore.

3. We saw Dodgeball last night and it was wicked funny. I have discovered that I like Ben Stiller best when he plays over the top satire. As a romantic lead, he squicks me out. Personal taste I guess. Plus he gets whiny in those roles for some reason.

4. I switched shampoos this weekend. The one I had picked up at the drugstore a couple weeks ago was producing major greasy build-up and made my hair feel nasty and dirty. I soon realized that this is because DUH, it’s for dry hair, which I do not have. I mean, the ends may be dry due to being long and having some color, but my scalp has always been oily, like the rest of my skin. So I looked for something apporopriate and definitely found it in Biolage Normalizing Shampoo and also their Conditioning Balm. OMG my hair is so soft and clean and swingy now. YAY. < /girly stuff>

5. Brian is taking me on a date this weekend since I took him to dinner and the movie last night. We are going to the Geisha exhibit at the Asian Art Museum and then probably dinner. Another money-saving tip we discovered was to go to restaurants and split entrees. I eat like a bird (especially giant restaurant portions), so if we order one salad and one main dish, we are set, and for half the price. We are forever taking leftovers bags home with us, which half the time never get eaten. This handy tip has been brough to you by the letter “H.” Yr welcome!

That’s pretty much it. Oh! Cat update: They are extremely happy with the new digs. And in love with each other as ever.
