Yesterday morning I walked to the store to get some milk for my cereal. It was a beautiful hot day. I noticed that the house a few doors down was having a yard sale, so I stopped by on my way back, milk in one hand and cup of coffee in the other. You know, weekend coffee.
One of the first things I noticed is that they were selling a large sheepskin throw, about the size for a person to lay on. A big one. I considered buying one of these last month at Home Remedies’ going out of business sale, but even on sale it was over $300, so I refrained.
So I asked the seller the price of the throw. “Five bucks,” she said. “Sold,” I replied.
So I now have a gorgeous, lovingly used, very soft sheepskin throw for our new apartment. Alls it needed was a nice delicate washing (done) and a couple good brushes. Sure it has a less-than-white color, but all white rugs end up that way eventually.
I love how the long white wool kinked up in the triple-load washer down the street at the laundromat. So pretty, and so very hardy. I especially loved lugging it uphill back home, soaking on my shoulder, like a big wet dog. Now it lies on my living room floor, damp and brushed, and I am relaxing with the A’s game until the time comes to go get the shared Jetta wagon and go pick up a fifteen-dollar rolling kitchen cart.
Did I mention I am excited to move?

YAY MOVING!
So it’s a RUG that is a SHEEP. Picture?
I CAN BARELY WAIT!
To be honest, a sheepskin rug is kind of like a bearskin rug, only, SHEEP! Baaaaaaaaa.
Mine is half the size of this one, still pretty big:

So what do the cats think of this rug? Anything fur-like might need to be “groomed.” Keep an I on Sasha. Love, Mom 🙂
