Hi. Yay I am updating again! I have slacked on the LJ so much lately. Possibly due to the whole “it’s very uncomfortable to sit at a desk” thing I’ve had for a few months now. But here I am at work and yesterday at long last I got my kneeling chair. It’s more comfortable than other options, but I am still in pain, so, I don’t know what to do at this point. I saw my doctor this morning and she gave me some new painkillers and said I may need cortisone shots. I’ll try almost anything. Today the pain is centered mostly in the lower back.

My gym is closed until Saturday and I miss it. I’ve been doing pilates at home. I really like it. It’s pretty simple and noticeably effective. I can see how it could get addictive, too, in a good way. I’m just doing the mat exercises.

Totally wish my back would stop hurting. This particular backache started yesterday. Feh.

Moving is expensive, but this time it will be worth it to me and Brian. I just need to drastically cut back on personal spending for the next month. No new clothes, no new accessories or makeup or other little presents. It’s gonna be tight, but very doable. I am getting movers of course, because no way am I risking my back any further. So there’s that. Also we need a rug, two poof chairs, and the armoire I have had my eye on for a few months. Then we need all the other house crap like garbage cans, cleaning equipment, and so on. Being the person who is moving out of a roommate situation often means you get screwed on this stuff. But I am taking my awesome vacuum cleaner, most of the dishes and silverware, and almost all of the appliances and electronics. My roommate won’t have much left because she tends to recruit her living situations based on what material goods they can bring to the house. Which is like, cheap. Yeah.

So I have two weeks to do all this. Pack, prepare for movers, paint walls in new apartment, and move in. I keep imagining that first week we are there together, and how relaxed and happy we will be, finally.

I am still not going to martial arts class, mainly due to the fact that my hip and back pain are seriously inflamed every time I take a fall. Class involves much being thrown and falling to the floor, so sadly, I must abstain. It fucking sucks. Also I have to focus on getting stronger and taking care of moving business. Maybe after we move I will start coming to class to participate a little bit.

I get to go to a baseball game tomorrow night with my friend Leigh and her two daughters. Dollar dogs! Becited. Though I am kinda worried because I have now been to three A’s games and seen them lose every time. It doesn’t bode well. If you believe in that kind of crap.

I dream about riding on public transportation a lot. I think the train has become symbolic of transition in my dreams.

This morning I ate bran flakes for breakfast with 2% milk and a chopped nectarine. It was good. Then this afternoon I was kind of bummed out to discover that the notoriously evil company Nestle owns the Bran Flakes brand. Oh well. Nobody’s perfect.

This concludes my sparklingly fascinating LJ post! Taking a bow.

Thanks 🙂 I’m working out partially to get my hips, back, and legs into good shape again, and partially to lose a little weight. But mainly I am interested in strength, toning, and general health benefits. It makes me feel good!

Plus it would be nice to have great definition in my arms for the wedding, too. 🙂

Pilates is pretty simple, just a series of mat exercises where you use your core strength (abs) and your own body weight. I like it and I have found it’s easy to do at home if you have a DVD or even a good book about it.

Nope, haven’t got a dress yet. Can’t really talk about it here as my fiance reads this page! I’m going to another bridal shop Saturday though.
