Tonight Brian asked me to cut his hair. Which was funny because I have been entertaining this crazy fantasy for a couple days of what it would be like to cut hair for a living. In spite of the fact that I have never done it… I mean I used to cut my own hair, and I have dyed the hair of friends in the past.
So I agreed, and we set up in the empty dining room with scissors and clippers. I wrapped a sheet around Brian’s shoulders and set to clippin. It took awhile; I was being careful to make it even. But I really enjoyed it — I think it brought out my perfectionist nature.
It turned out well. Brian said we should go to school, me for hairdressing and him for massage, and then open a salon. Hahaha. That would be funny. But it sure is interesting to think about careers that have nothing at all to do with what I am doing now. I could be creative with haircutting, and it’s something people always need. It might be a fun job, especially if I did freelance editing or writing on the side.
Thinkin outside the box.

haha. you should watch Blow Out. have you seen it? some of those stylists go SO SLOW, you could easily replace them.
I have a friend who was pretty high up in the organization at a casino. He got tired of the grind, went to massage school and is now hoping to get hired at the spa in that same casino. So I guess what I’m saying is, you can be whatever you want.
