a good morning »

it’s hot

September 4, 2004 by Jane

This morning I borrowed a car from City Car Share and ran errands: buying soil, plants, and a pot from Cole Valley hardware, buying canned cat food, and going grocery shopping. It was alread 80 degrees at 9:30 this morning.

When I got home from returning the car, Brian had made me eggs and coffee, because he is number one. He had to stay up until 2am working last night — though it luckily was from home.

Then I just played on our tiny back deck. Cleaned out the nasty old planter box that was full of thick root balls and dead dry stems, and planted or re-potted eleven plants, from huge to tiny. I find gardening so incredibly calming. What a drag that the space on our deck that gets southern exposure is so damn small.

I love getting to do apartment stuff on the weekends. We just moved the four foot tall cat condo into the office. The cats refuse to play in it or sleep on it unless it’s right next to a window.

Time to do the floors, yo.
