This cafe is rad. It reminds me of Olympia. Mismatched ugly tables and chairs, bad local art, a couch, good music, good coffee, small and humble and a bit dingy. You only find cafes like this in small college towns. Oh and it has free W-Fi.

The flight only sucked because we had to get up at 4am and takeoff around 6:45. Also it just seemed so long. And killed my legs. And the movie (“Raising Helen”) was really dumb. And no free food was served. Ah well. It got us here.

So we got to Chicago and it took a long time to get the car. By then it was about 1:30 or so and neither of us had eaten ANYTHING since last night around 9:00. So that’s um, sixteen hours? Yeah. We were starting to get cranky. I am really sorry I didn’t call, Leonard, but waiting another hour or so to eat would have been miserable, and I assumed that by that point you had already eaten. But thank you so much for the offer and we can definitely get together for lunch on Monday, if you can. YesI have your cell #.

ANYWAY so we ate some lunch in Oak Lawn? I think? Some little family restaurant. The food was pretty good, surprisingly good. My back hurted. Wah. The place was playing the Cubs game on tv and I was glad to see the Cubs being annihilated by the Marlins. Ha.

Back on the road, all the way up to K’zoo. We are supposed to meet Brian’s friend Brian and stay at his place tonight and then go to his wedding tomorrow. But we didn’t have anyone’s phone number handy, so we just tried going to the church where the rehearsal was going on. And there was Brian2 in the parking lot. Wheee! Dinner’s in an hour about a block from this cafe. We are set. I want to nap on this couch.
