Last night we went to a fabulous dinner party at my friend Leigh’s. Bill was in town from Vegas and cooked up a menu of figs stuffed with gorgonzola, prosciutto, and walnut; orzo salad with cherry tomatoes; and flattened chicken breasts pan-sauteed in butter with sauteed purple arugula. OMG mmm. Plus wine, then bing cherry pie for dessert. We had a fabulous time and Leigh’s daughters are truly wonderful kids.
Today I don’t have to do much since we pretty much cleaned the whole apartment yesterday. So I get to lay on the couch and go walk around my neighborhood in the sun.
For some reason I have been incredibly curious about how long it would take me to walk to work from my house. Unfortunately I suspect it would be over two hours. So I’m thinking, just walk to the tunnel at Cole Street, almost one and a half miles away, and hop on the train there. Yahoo driving directions says this will only take me 4 minutes. All I have to do is run about 30MPH, shattering world records along the way.
Tonight we’re grillin, and I’m also going to watch the Athletics/Red Sox game with fingers crossed. To my slight chagrin, hit’n’miss Zito is pitching. Eek.
