Last night was fun. Nick and Yuri came over to watch DVDs and grill. As usual, Brian made the big fire. He’s good at it. Our Japanese houseguest, Taku, hung out a little too, but didn’t socialize much. I think he is quite shy. But he is really very nice.

The burgers were very good, as was the chicken apple sausage and the white wine brought by the guests. Lovely time. We watched “Mean Girls.” I think I am going to have to prefer “Heathers,” however, because in the latter I found the Heathers characters a bit more convincing, and I liked that the filmmakers took some risks by going dark. “Mean Girls” may have had funnier lines, I guess, but the ending really wimped out. Not to say I disliked it, but I could almost see exactly where the script-doctoring took place.

Tonight we are supposed to go to Japan Town and have karaoke time in one of those places where you get a private room. But it really hasn’t been organized at all and I really need to do some prep work for the dinner party tomorrow. So I think it’s play it by ear.

No working out today for me, I have gone almost every day this week. Perhaps tomorrow I will head over there and do a nice long weightlifting routine. Really need to buy goggles before I go swimming again.

I hope it rains this weekend. It’s been too dry for too long.
