And tomorrow I’ll rest.
Can’t think of anything to write today. I am excited for the weekend because we are taking a car trip to Target after swimming lessons. On Saturday evening we’re going to a bakery cafe in the Mission that has music on the weekends and checking out their jazz combo as a possible wedding band prospect. Thinking outside the box. Saving money by not using Professional Wedding Musicians. These guys apparently have an accordion!
I don’t think I had enough coffee today.

oh neat! I like the idea of something original like a jazz band with an accordion. Accordions are cool.
Have fun at Target!
What I like about them (or how I was told they sound) is that is a Parisian use of the accordian, rather than a German style. Old-fashioned French chanteuse type jazz. If that makes sense. Think Edith Piaf.
I continue to be proud of your swimming, Flipper!
why thank you! I have finally learned to do the breathing so I can do two full laps (100m) with only a small pause in the middle now.
good for you! swimming does create a really nice body and its low impact! Do you find that its helped you hip at all?
and thinking outside the box is great…. live music is much nicer than recorded…. more atmosphere. I was really hmmmm about our DJ but we were so pressed for time… we had a harpist for cocktails but couldn’t get a band for after dinner.
Yes, my hip is better, in fact my pain is pretty much all lower back at this point because discs take such a very long time to heal. After swimming my back always feel sgreat though.
I am hoping to lose 10 pounds in the next five months… so far I haven’t lost anything! Even though I have now been swimming 3 or 4 times a week for over a month. So maybe I have put on a little muscle? Or I need to re-look at my diet or something.
I think its about 6 weeks before you start noticing small differences and bah to the scale… a measuring tape would probably give you a better idea because it takes the muscle into account a little better than the scale.
I agree about the measuring tape, although I’ve also heard that you can base it on how well your clothes fit too. If you have a tight pair of jeans, try those on!
Yeah…I haven’t lost anything either. But, my main problem is just pure crap! I eat tons of bad stuff. I’ll do great for a week, then bad for a week. I did start running/walking 1/2 hr every other day, and that was helping me feel better, but every time I run I get shin splints – bleh!
Don’t run on concrete or pavement! I hope you’re not doing that.
I’m working on keeping my meals small and frequent. This morning I had toast and peanut butter at 8:30 and then a few baby carrots at 10:30. Lunch at 12:30…
weight loss
jane-
I have lost like 2 inches around my waist, hips & butt (but only about 5 pounds, not that I was overweight to begin with) by doing a bodybuilders diet! It really works. It takes hard work though. I bought this ebook “burn the fat feed the muscle” after reading about the Body for Life program. (http://www.burn-the-fat.com/home.html). It all looks sort of cheesy but it really works! The key is to eat small meals, but eat the right things too, make sure you eat a protein and a carb with every meal… I could go on and on…. I also use an online database to count calories, it really helps.

oh no, we have 50 acres (ok, ok 49.7) of land out here, so I walk/fast walk my trails on the weekends when I can and walk/fast walk on my mom’s treadmill in the pole barn when I can’t.
I swear, I’ll do great for one week, and then horrible for the next…ugh! If I ever have more cash, I’m going to do Curves or buy a DVD in the summer.
target is the best 😀
I love Target, too. We don’t own a car, but if we did I would probably go there a LOT more. There and Trader Joes and Costco…
