I think I had my best swimming yet today. I did fifteen laps very quickly, that’s 750 meters for those of you keeping track. The breathing is working out amazingly. I think I have twice as much endurance now. I took very few pauses between laps, perhaps for five seconds or so. It was so awesome. (Though I do need to learn how to execute a flip turn in the water.) Not having to go back to work again after was another relaxing factor. It felt so great! Sometimes when I’m swimming I can now really zone out and think about other things as I go. Or pretend that instead of swimming in a lap pool I am really doing something really challenging like swimming in deep water, in a lake or something. Wheeee!!!
Then I went home and baked two pumpkin pies, which was also killer. Have not tasted them, but I can tell they will be great. I had a half-cup of leftover pumpkin puree in the can, so I found a recipe online and made pumpkin apple muffins, which are asskickingly yummy. Baking is divine. While the second pie was in the oven Brian and I walked down to Gordo for a quesadilla, and I sang a jingle I made up about Gordo. Something about quesadilla get in my mouth and Gordo means “fat guy.” It’s going to be a hit.
Speaking of: KFOG played the new U2 song this morning and I have had the fucking thing stuck in my head since. It’s the one from the iPod commercial. OMG it’s such an earworm. And to think these guys were once my favoritest band in all the land. The rose started to fade, however, in 1988 when they decided that playing a concert in the remote backwater of Seattle was beneath them, and skipped my state on their Joshua Tree tour. That same year, another band I liked, Depeche Mode, ALSO declined to visit our quaint northern village. Sorry folks, Seattle won’t be known for anything but lumberjacks and failed sports teams for another three years. Chin up!

funny story… I’m at home in my office right now and there is a totally cute girl who looks just like you sitting behind me. I think I’m going to slip her a love note.
that was so awesome.
is that u2 song the one that says uno, dos, tres, catorce? if so, i haaaaaaaattttttteeee it! seriously, one two three fourteen? i barely know spanish but i know that is so stupid!
yes that one! ugh. I guess they say “14” in that line because it happens to be their 14th album.
eyeroll
oh my god. that is the dumbest thing ever but now at least i know why…although it doesn’t change the fact i hate it!!
