This weekend I threw away 18 pairs of old underwear. Some of them had been around for three years or more. All stretched out, with the elastic starting to fray. Can’t do anything with them except toss into the trash.

Then I went to gapbody and got six new pairs of low-rise briefs, in plain solid colors. No more patterns for me. Just black, white, and pink. You’re welcome, perverts.

I also wandered around Sephora but didn’t buy anything. I got a sample of this cleanser and when I tried it this morning, it made my chin so dry and scaly it actually turned white. The top layer of skin just dried right up. Thank dog for samples, this one went directly into the bin. WTF.

Last night we watched “Monsoon Wedding.” I made this awesome butternut squash recipe with maple syrup and baked apples. We got only ONE group of trick or treaters, but that beats the ZERO we had last year in Noe Valley. I gave them Reeses cups and brought the rest of our candy in to work today.

After the movie we headed over to Canvas Cafe to listen to their live jazz, drink hot drinks, and read magazines. A nice way to spend Halloween. We passed zillions of yahoos on their way to the Castro, where they presumably milled around getting their lookie-loos in at a bunch of other drunk suburbanites.

Saturday night on the way to and from Heidi’s party we saw a number of people in unidentifiable costumes, which we later categorized as “goth zombie” or “raver zombie” or “goth raver.” So imaginative! zzzz

The winner of best costume that night on Muni was this guy who was wearing shorts, a Hawaiian shirt, a fake ‘stache, and a Detroit Tigers baseball cap. Can you guess who he was supposed to be? We guessed right away that he was one of Brian’s most beloved fictional heroes.
